~House hunting~ @JakePurifoy_BT
So Jake was still at work, and he sent me to “look at the house”. He should know better by now, I don’t need to look again. I already want it.
So this was a joy ride.
I loved the house in pictures, but it didn’t do the structure justice. I felt like I’d stepped onto an old plantation, standing in front of the door between the tall white pillars, I was back in Gone with the Wind. Inside the door lead either upstairs, to the right to a dining room, or left to a piano room (Jake Purifoy and a piano room? Um no, maybe a bar/lounge area) and then what looked like an office. I headed to the right.
The dining room was small, and honestly, small was ok, We’d never use it. The kitchen took my breath away, the marble countertops perfect, smooth and cool, you could cook right on it. I loved the small desk which seemed to scream out at me WRITING DESK!, and I carried on into the master bedroom, the only bedroom on the bottom floor. It had a deep porcelain tub in the bathroom, and a separate shower stall. (Big enough for two people, yes, I checked.)
I poked my head out to the pool, smelling the salt in the saltwater spa. (SPA!!!) I felt very Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, so much luxury I just wasn’t used to. Yet, it already felt like home. I could see Jake in front of the massive gas fireplace, a Christmas tree in the corner, and while my mind was already running sprints around me, two little boys fighting over their first opened present, though there were still several unopened packages under the tree. I shook my head hard and pushed the image from my mind.
I went back through the kitchen, up the stairs….
